The Cure

Pain-induced banter muffled the moan,

heat expelled madly, scorched skin and bone.

From master of self to victimized sire,

with absence of will to not feed the fire.

Pondering choice, indulging the need,

receding further yet lacking death’s greed.

To hamper the beast with unbridled will

gives cause for the beast to succumb for its thrill,

and shadow all footsteps, a life to infest,

with self-undone folly and merciless test.

Summon the genius that renders the cure,

summon the genius that whispers, "endure."

You are truly an Amazing writer, and yes it is hard not to give in to sin at times, but we must fight so we don't drift into the darker seas of life.

This is more a read of what you are not saying... Very well put as far as what is behind the written words... I partner the pain so quietly not spoken...

Demanding and commanding. I like the use of the word fire...and the references to many different kinds of heat...Strong poem~

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
