THE DAWN IS CALLIN'

Poem Commentary

Ya gotta love those wee hours of the mornin'

THE DAWN IS CALLIN'

Its late; Midnight
Darkness was upon the land
The moon cast still shadows upon the filtered sand
The air was peaceful, silent was abound
Not one human was stirrin'; No, not one was found
Great time and I choose to be alone
Cut off from civilization? well at least from my unplugged phone
Here I lay collectin' my thoughts
Hoping that the world hasn't come to a screechin' halt
As time moves on; darkness fallin'
Pardon my French;  Damn!
Dawn is callin'.

Ha! Very uplifting poem. You started out dark and solemn but brought up my spirits in the end. That is a wonderful quality in a poem. This one is definitely a 10!

Oh yes, I can totally relate to this poem. TY for sharing this with me, your flow is great I like the way you wrote this the style works for these words. It sounds like me totally. Did you read my mind when you wrote this one??? or are we similar and love the night time when no one is around to bother us? HUGS!!!!!!!!

I liked it. This style of poetry by others doesn't always have the elements of a good poem. Your's does

Thank you

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
