The Day Is Down...

The Day Is Down...

The Day is Down when darkness dawns.
I felt a chill was coming on
Confusion comes, whom I befriend.
As we’re walking, the dark descends.

This frightful cycle, once foregone
The Day is Down when darkness dawns.
My mind has groaned from all these flames
As thoughts do dance and play their games

Pokes and prods with a needles prick,
These chains of thoughts have made me sick.
The Day is Down when darkness dawns
Inside myself, I have withdrawn

Dark’s ascending decadent way,
Fills my mind with rotting decay
Deeply desponding woebegone,
The Day is Down when darkness dawns.

My wife also suffers from bipolar disorder. She has done well with the meds she takes. But when I first witnessed a manic phase, it was basically everything you wrote. Excellant job with your poem.

I like this poem; I like Dark Poems. The Darkness we are told to hide, are often birthed in poetry.

This Poem Is about My Wife's Daily Stuggle with Bipolar's Control on her Day.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
