The Demon I Adore

The Demon I Adore

Here I stand
Simply in love
Here is my hand
Take it,  sweet dove

I offer my heart
Yours, in complete
But I guess that this heart
Can nary compete

With your devilish eyes
With your angelic ways
He gives you nothing
And yet you are crazed

You were my angel
My Goddess, My muse
But Here I am left alone
And used
My Demon,  I adore you.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
