THE DESTRUCTION OF MY MIND

THE DESTRUCTION OF MY MIND

Sanity crumbling and falling into a void
A twisted soul that has been destroyed
Destruction of a mind never pure
A broken heart that can't be cured
Left in the gutter, withered and dying
A silent youth afraid of trying
Struggling through life though I dream of death
Yearning to take my last painful breath
A life lived alone, surrounded by violence
The sound of a gun... nothing but silence

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
