    The Dream

    I had a dream
    A little man woke me
    He must not have been
    But three foot three

    He commanded this time
    You shall come with me
    Stay where you are
Your spirit is to rise out of thee

He said you have seen me
    Many time before
    Call me little feller
    A name I adore.

    I suffer much,I do
    For you alone
    I am Malachi
    Your guardian angel I'm known

    People have forgotten
    Since the first century
    The respect deserved
    Of angels above thee

    I am greater
    Than John the baptizer
    I was provided for you
    From our God even higher

    So without haste
    I left myself so free
    as if everything
    was only made for me

    Such a loving God
    I could feel
    Is this a dream
I need to know are you real

    The great angel laughed
    With such zeal
    Wait 'till you see
    The promised meal

    Oh so bewildered
    I asked in return
    Are there such people
    That forever burn

    You cannot understand
    No more questions from thee
    Nothing has changed
    Since Galilee

    There are two worlds
    Living and dead
    Worry yourself not
    The great angel said

    It's not a matter
    For you or me
    The greatest of all
    Can only by stealth see

I asked, shall I gird my loins
    And put on my armor
    I was just born
    Of a simple farmer

    The the owl who hoots
    Too often you see
    The great angel said
    Goes hungry

    So close your mouth
    Open your soul
    I will now take you
    Where few ever go

    So we flew off
And I was given a robe
    That I had to wear
    To go where we go

    Flying like lightning
    Through the blackness of space
    I found myself standing
    In a beautiful place

    Colors I had not seen
    Ever before
    Did this new place
    So adore

    I brought here
    not just for you
    I brought you here
    To show many truth

    I believe in God
    I weakly said
    and I know
    about living and dead,

    Laughing so mellow
    The great angel said
    Do you have words
    For where you been led

    No, I said
    I have no words
    No poem or poet could
    It would be patently absurd

    Now you have seen
    The great angel said
    Just the beginning
And that is all that he said

    Suddenly...
    My alarm clock came
    And woke from sleep
    To the well known domain.

Just testing if the comments are linked to email, I'm new. ~poet

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
