    The echo of a Narcissist

     There are times when you seem
    To look right through me
    At your own fabricated reflection
    Do I have to remind you
    That it's me standing here
    Begging you to see me
    All that I feel for you
    Pales in your narcissism 
    I wonder where I stand
    When you spend your days
    Looked in a tiny room
    Just checking out your form
    There are days when I think
    You flipped out on me
    Gave away your immortal soul
    Just to see your face remain
    Unchanged throughout the generations
    I wish I could become
    The glass that holds your love
    Wish I could submerge myself
    Into your reflection
    Even though I know
    It is but a pale imitation
    To the heart I used to know
    The one you gave to me
    Now I have to go
    And I'll leave it by the bed
    Next to your small echo
    And a note detailing 
    My affection for the boy
    That became a man
    Not the shadow 
    Lost in his own impression
