The Façade
I struggle to
Make people understand
The beatings I took
From his big hand
Having to live life
Of total and complete fear
They were much worse
When he drank his beer
I try to understand
I try to explain
Still there are those
Who think I’m to blame
I tried hard at times
The beatings I refused
He just left me on the
Ground battered and bruised
What goes through the mind
Of someone so so cruel
He put up such a façade
He made me feel like a fool
