    The Fire

The fire burns passionate and bright.

Not even the sun can match its light.

The fire burns fierce and warm,

More fervent than the coming storm.

    The fires intensity rages on,

But it can't last, not for too long.

The fire blazing through their veins,

    Oblivious to the final pain.

Like fuel their passion is consumed.

A prelude to the coming doom.

The fire devouring all in its path.

A love like this not meant to last.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
