    The First Moon of Elatia

‘twas the first moon of elatia

    before dolore lost her bearing

It wasn’t that her road had turned

it’s just that she stopped caring

    her burdening darkened overload

    vanished in bright haze

no more, some painful tale of woe

    just blurry halcyon days

    Bayer, Squibb and Eli Lilly

    once courted her with verve

and so also would have Pfizer

but he had lost his nerve.

    the dawning of elatia came

    with sudden threat to all

    for once unburdened by distress

they had no cause to call.

    viagara slid, zoloft collapsed

    ephedra scant maintained

    starbucks soon tried out topless

    but baristas weren’t retained.

    for no one needed uppers

    no one, some capsuled crutch

as dolore fell aswoon in love

    with elatia’s healing touch.

twas the first moon of elatia

as this age made final swoon

when we all survived its blood red morn

before her sun arose at noon.

This is like the NASCAR of poetry with all the advertising lol!! I found this to be quite an enjoyable read, and congrats on the win.

Yeah, but I don't think the advertisers would like what I did to their car! Hah Harv

From a nursing standpoint, I can really relate and read between the lines. Well done my friend, well done. Happens all too often i am afraid. Write on, and Happy holidays......

    Thank you so much, Harv

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
