The Game

The Game

chosen to play
roulette of the heart
i played the game well
then forgot my part
tried to bypass the manual
and play as i go
but you beat me at it
for you were a pro...
if it was for love
I'd have tied the score
but true love
plays no games
so you won this war
hope life finds you complete
in a place of defeat
where you play no more games
THEN... you'll find the key

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
