The gift of sight by Yvette Carbajal 6,20,09

For it has been days since i closed my eyes not wasting my precious time. I watch the sunshine burning through my soul. I see so many unbelievable things. A mother robin sings from the edge of an aged tree. An eager bee ending its life over one sting.

I don’t want to miss a thing but what happens when i blink. I can’t help but think.

The duckling swimming in the murky pond waters. I continue on enjoying my gift as if nothing in this world bothers.

I stand at the highest peak. Staring at the arriving moon as the sun becomes weak. Gazing endlessly at the darkening sky. The first star shines in my dark brown eyes.

I believe we were all born with a simply beautiful gift Being able to open our eyes and love the gift of sight.

this poem is so real and makes you feel as if you are there watching the exact same thing that you are seeing.

This is lovely. So many people do take this gift for granted. Wonderful imagery. Keep writing, you will shine.
