The Guardian

After a long day, i fell asleep to a mist of dreams.
Someone appeared to me and told me to do not fear.
I felt that I was awake, but my instincts assured me that i was far, far, away, to far to hear a mortals spoken word.
I asked the visitor why had she come to invade my silent slumber,
she said she was here by my request, and at this point i began to wonder.
She said i was allowed only three questions and the rules are clear and plain, i will not answer anything further, or inflict any pain.
From that point, i allowed myself to catch my thoughts and interrogate this strange being, although I could not see her face, I didn't believe what I was seeing.
Question number one I said, if you don't mind, I want to know why my mother left me behind.
Question number two, though very true, why did God not take me too?
Question number three, i could only expel from the tears that's soaked my nightgown, i asked what was my purpose here in this cold, cruel, world, and the visitor bowed her head.
As I waited for my answers,I yelled and screamed through my stinging tears,
She began to say she is with you always,
God only takes the best she said through her silky tone, your purpose is clear, my dear, you are here to guard the weak, and heal the sick, to help those in need, and before you proceed, know this one thing, you soon will understand,
Life is for those who choose to live, but those who choose to die will fall to their own pride....
Everything went dark and I awoke with the morning sun,
as I stretched, i noticed that something was very wrong,
the thrust of my wings and wisp of the wind, so majestically,
A small voice spoke in my ear,
you are the guardian.
