    THE JOY OF LIFE

IT'S A JOY TO LIVE LIFE IN IT FULNESS
IT'S A JOY TO GO OUT EVERYDAY AND BE BLESS
WE ARE HAPPY TO AWAKE AND SEE EVERYDAY
YES WE ARE HAPPY IN EVERY WAY
AS WE GET OLDER IN LIFE
SOME OF US TAKE A HUSBAN OR WIFE
SOME OF US REMAIN SINGLE AND FREE
THATS THEIR CHOICE LET THEM BE
THEN LATER HEAR COME THE KID
THEY BRING RESPONSIBILITY WE COULD NOT HID
WE WERE HAPPY WHEN THEY COME ALONG
WHEN WE LOOK AROUND AND THEY WERE GROWN
WE GO TO MOVIE TO CHURCH TO ALL KIND OF EVENT
ALL THESE THING WE DO THATS HOW OUR TIME IS SPENT
WE LOVE LIFE IN A SPECIAL WAY
WE HOPE IN GOOD HEALTH WE WILL ALWAYS STAY
YES WE LIVE WE WORK AND PRAY
WHEN LIFE IS OVER WE WILL PAST AWAY

OMG, what a typo! I meant to write "a charmic rustic quality" is in in this poem--not the word "rusting"--I'm sorry; my treatments have in part disconnected my mind from my fingers, it seems. I'm not going to note any other typos, if there are any; I apologize for any and all typos. Especially if I make one in this message! ;) Bye now. --MLP, aka PWC, Mr. Poet

TYPO ALERT: That should have been: // You invited me to read a poem of yours titled "Standing Tall." I was NOT able to find it posted.

Dear Clifton, // You invited me to read a poem of yours titled "Standing Tall." I was able to find it posted. So, I looked through your other poem titles. All of them are good titles that invite reading. // The two that stood out for me, in my situation, were "The Joy of Life" and "Death"--which should I read, right now, became the question. Either one applies to me--the first applies, because I have great love of life and joy of life; the second, because I'm facing an early, painful death. I chose to read "The Joy of Life" right now. // There is a charming rusting quality to your diction that is honed by an underlying sophistication that tells me you have been reading and writing poetry for a long time, unless you are a natural poet; pehaps both are true. // Your words selected a number of those things in life that make living a joy. It also evokes a sense of the swift flight of the time of life. // I wish I could have found your poem "Standing Tall," Clifton. Maybe you haven't posted it yet? I don't know why I could find it. But I'm glad I found this one. // A solid 10. // Bye now. // --Michael LP, Mr. Poet

Another beautifully moving poem filled with good advice.I pray that people in every nation may live such a beautiful and puposeful life.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
