    The Kiss

    Two images….

    Two hearts beating rapidly

    Slowly…

    Rhythmically

    They come together…

    Two sets of lips…

    Soft and wet;

    Wild with anticipation….

    They part..

    One ‘s lip curls

    softly about the other’s

    Gently releasing

    A tender stroke

    Of the tongue…

    Two images…

    Two hearts racing…

    Hunger abounds…

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
