The Little Rat

Poem Commentary

Well, that's what greed and over confidence will do to you. It's full of symbolism, of course. It came to me as I washed dishes.

The Little Rat

Once there was a little rat,
Who tricked the dog and baited the cat,
Raiding the pantry 'til it grew quite fat.
In greed it found content.

Through success it became so proud.
The little rat sighed aloud,
And through the door came a dual shroud
But as soon as it came, it went.
