    The Little Room

     Golden Circles
    In my shadow
    Relaxing
    In broken thoughts
    Dismayed

    Upon my broken-ness
    A trail of waves emit
    These tattered phrases

    Don't you get it?
    Even though there is a present, future, past
    How can we ever just forget
    Our pain of life.

    Bitter sorrow
    Just remain in here a while
    Making rainbows in my gutters
    From the rain of forest timbers
    Breaking down into this
    Little room
    I call my soul.

    Easier said than done but happiness can only be found in the present moment . It is a spiritual law that dwelling in the past or worrying about the future can only bring pain and anxiety. Resist not evil - we can't stop the negative thoughts but we CAN practice letting the pass though our minds like waves through water . If we don't do it in the next hour that hour is lost for ever in sadness . It takes effort - minute by minute and never ends . The alternative to effort is sadness . It's a choice . Good poem about the mystery of the mind - we all have this affliction - how strange that it does not go the other way around - happiness is natural thinking and we have to work to be unhappy . We are the only creatures with this problem . It's indisputable evidence of the essential ned to practice a spiritual life and that in fact there is a spirt . When two people meet a spiritual connection is made . We can sit alone and practice spiritual teachings but until we go out and come into contact with otter humans we have no way to mirror our progress along spiritual line . Not easy .
