    I just woke up and wrote this at 330am.

    the midnight girl

     <>


    i imagine the midnight girl
    scratching down her urgent verse
    realizing that
    they haven't figured it out yet 
    feeling as though it's getting worse

    the diction in her diaries
    such text messages from her ovaries
    speaks of such fists

    her screams are breaking all of this glass
    yet she still dances on the pieces 
    taking the hit for future nieces

    i know still that you are strong
    and they've known it all along 
                    but
    the darker and larger the bumps in the night
    they will gnash and grind their teeth
    at the things they are afraid of

    I am amazed at times at just how you emote the inner emotions of Woman....whether she's scorned ….angry....hurt or loved/unloved....your words ring true to it all....I'm sure more than many can relate.....thanks for that....Cher
