    The Mime And Lady Fair

On the same hour, every day
    As the sun does rise
    Enters now into the park
    The rainbow of his eyes

On Monday morn is when she comes
    With a book in hand
Hair tucked back into a tie
    Today he has a plan

Behind a tree, he peeks around
    to see the lady fair
Takes a step into the grass
    But ceases movement there

    Beauty's cast into his eyes
For this rarity, he holds still
For how could he disturb the view
To tell what he does feel

A mime at best, his wording lost
    He slowly fades away
    Back behind the cottonwood
    Today shan't be the day

    Tuesday comes with mournful tear
For what now shall he do
To show the lady of his heart
    That he loves her true

    As she sits with violin
    Bow across the string
He thinks if I was not this mime
For my sweet love I'd sing

He reaches down, upon the earth
    And plucks a dandelion
"This shall be a gift to her
To show her I am trying"

Her Arms do sway, a dance in play
With bow and wood and string
And as he slowly walks her way
He hopes and prays and dreams

She meets his eye on his approach
And plays a song in time
He holds hand out, with the gift
    Of nature from a mime

And as she stops to take the gift
    She lays down her violin
    Sheet music flies with dandelion
    Into uncharted wind

She runs away to catch the sheets
    Her music to retrieve
His head drops with saddened tear
    For the notion he conceived

The dark haired girl, summer's joy
His heart does love with bliss
He'd give up everything he knows
    To share one magic kiss

Wednesday comes, up with the sun
    And under tree forlorn
Sits the mime of heavy woe
In pain of heart so torn

    He sees her enter leisurely
    Waltzing through the park
He tucks his head into his knees
To her he will not hark

    Then suddenly upon his arm
    He feels a gentle touch
"Could it be? oh let be
The one I love so much"

He gives a pause with one last hope
    He slowly lifts his head
To see the smile of the girl
Then not one word is said

She lifts her hands and signs the signs
That say I love you too
I waited months for you to come
    My wish finally came true

Hand in hand, with true love's vow
They begin now down the walk
Hearts speaking more between the two
    Than words could ever talk
