    The Night

I have held you while you slept, kept you warm and comforted you. I have watched over you in your moments of restlessness and sadness, and have whispered in your ear that all will be okay. I have shared the evening breeze with you, and the rain. We have listened to the sounds of night together, often smiling and always keeping eachother close. I so enjoy wrapping myself around you and protecting you from the world. I have shown you the beauty of the night and a tear from heaven that you called a "falling star". I must leave you soon, but don't worry for I shall return. For I am the night

Oh, I love this. To be caressed by the warmth and security of the night, as opposed to the cold, dark, unsafeness of it. I like this look upon the night much better.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
