The Questions

Was there not enough pain?

Why would humans do this?

To raise not only their voices, but also their fists.

Were they just lonely?

Were they wanting to feel better?

Were lives so bad they had to run around and mutter?

Why would this happen?

Was this the plan all along?

To make someone else feel like they didn’t belong?

What kind of world was this?

To make others feel bad?

Make them feel low and lonely and sad.

We may never understand why it all happened.

Why we didn’t see eye to eye or agree.

Why the world went all crazy and people became mean.

One things for sure, though, I’m glad it all changed.

Because living in that world, to me would be strange.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
