The River

The River

Rushing river
Heal my heartache
Lord of mercy hear my cry
Sunlight dancing on the rapids
Sparkling water
Wash over me
Let me live a life of gladness
Thankful I'm alive to hurt
Quiet waters
Ease my full mind
Let me breathe deeply this hour

There is not one cloud
To marr the soft blue sky
The sun warms my shoulders
The hawk glides with no wind at his back
All is as it should be
Still the answers are not apparent to me
Your will be done
You gave your son
To wipe out my transgressions
I will trust in you
To lead me through, this time
It is not mine to ponder
What will come to pass, this hour, this day
I will follow you

This a lovely prayer! You plead for His help and vow to follow His lead. That is just as it should be.

but one of your many beautiful poems, the words flow like a river, peaceful and strong.

Perhaps, like the hawk, you seek to rise and soar over those things that are soul heavy? A beautifully reflective inner dialog within your daily walk with Christ.
