    This poem is about Relationship between two people. What's more important? To be in the relationship or to get the last word.

    The Rope

     We are held by a rope that at times is a chain
    It sometimes becomes a noose
    I try to hang you with it
    I am just hanging myself

    When I hold the rope lightly, it has no weight
    When I hold the rope tightly, it's heavy like lead
    When I am rough, the rope tugs back
    When I demanded, it would not yield

    If I offer myself with love, it succumbs
    If I listen, I hear your voice
    The voice I drowned out by the voices in my head
    Only your voice, no one else's, only yours

    Better not to have a rope,but a silver thread that is endless in order to journey. You did a nice job on this, very insightful.

    Thank you. I felt and I hoped and I grew. Unfortunately, the heart is only good at loving. The brain is good at thinking.That's how I felt.
