    The Script

     I do not know what to say
    When I'm put on the spot
    Take a deep breath, don't panic
    And give it your best shot

    Everyone is watching me
    As I stand on life's stage
    The spotlight is on me but
    I forgot the first page

    I can't remember my lines
    It is like I have tripped
    I must be a bad actor
    For I forgot the script

    Everyone has roles to play
    In the dramas we live
    If I freeze up, am speechless
    What's the alternative?

    Is this script meant just for me
    Or can I improvise?
    And say what I want to say
    Without a compromise?

    Still before the audience
    Now I'll be in control
    I refuse to let someone
    Issue me any role

    I will do things my own way
    These pages should be ripped
    No more drama in my life
    I'll follow my own script
