    • Been on a hiatus for awhile, but I'm back and have the itch to write some poetry.

    The Seasons of Love

    love can be like Winter
    sometimes its bitter cold
    it covers everything in white
    like lovers growing old
    but at times its beautiful
when the snow is falling down
    so precious, pure and white
like a young bride's wedding gown
    love can be like Spring
    there can be some rain
    people say that love hurts
    but its worth the pain
the rain will bring the flowers
    that make up her bouquet
the one that she'll proudly throw
    on her wedding day
    love can be like Summer
    sometimes it makes you thirst
love is sometimes harsh you dry
and makes your poor heart burst
    but its also steamy
    passionate and hot
    there's nothing like a lover
who gives you all they got
     love is just like Autumn
when the leaves begin to change
love changes how you feel inside
    it makes you feel strange
    like nothing really matters
    you forget about it all
you stumble cause your knees go weak
    loves all about the fall

Liked it! Loved the rhythm and the rhyme, the metaphors for me went right with mine. Wonderful modern love poem. Masterfully expressed. Write on.....

this is the strongest piece you've written so far, by far. I love the way you wove this together...and the final lines, perfect. 10

Thank you... that means a lot coming from you. Really, my strongest by far?

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
