The Sound of Hope

Poem Commentary

I was watching the news and had a feeling of hope, so I wrote this.

The Sound of Hope

The world is angry,
there's a glaring hum,
masking the dilemma
it finds itself in.
It needs to change now
and must rest,
as it's spinning fast
and losing control.

The environment yells.
The economy devastated,
and each one of us
finds within a humming
mask inside of us.

We speak out and scream,
finding a crossroad,
not always knowing
the right way to go.

We've ascertained it now
We move ahead with hope
to peace, change and rest.
Glorious Democracy...

Quieting our unrest
changing toward a decade
of peace and progress...

Not an endless road
of violence and hatred,

We're moving on now...

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
