    • There is Salvation and Damnnation within the choice of words we define ourselves with.

    The Storm

Summer heat night full of stars
    cool sweating drink in hand
    body relaxed mind quieting down
    Then FLASH .............................................................................................CRASH

    Light fills the sky
    Sound floods your ears
    Fear strikes your heart
    FLASH.............................................................................................CRASH

Again the light that makes you want to turn away
and yet compels you to watch like a horrible train wreck
Drip drip Splash water dances on bare skin cool and warm all at the same time
    FLASH................................................................................CRASH

Coming so close danger creeping in
wishing to run and hide but frozen in a spell of curiosity
Raindrops play a sensual dance with your body
sliding down your neck and back deep within your clothes
    FLASH.................................................................CRASH

Terrifying yet arousing every sense in your body
drawing so close yet not quiet near you
like an experienced lover savoring the innocence of a virgin's body
    FLASH.....................................................CRASH

The wind screams at you in a loud deafening voice
The trees and plants lear at you angrily
    Danger has arrived
    FLASH.........................................CRASH

The whole world seems to have fallen away into the darkness
Your body trembles with passion and fear
Awe, amazement, and uncontrollable fear drip from every inch of your body
    FLASH.............................CRASH

    More passion than making love
    More violent than murder
This constant struggle between Human nature and Mother nature
    SILENCE........................................................................

Just as quickly as it came the rage is gone
the moon reappears, the stars once again shine bright
once again you are left alone on a warm summer's night

There is something about our Lake Michigan. It stimulates poetry. Those that have not seen it or lived here.... Oh well. By the way this is also great poetry.

The perfect warm summer's night. These are my favorite lines Coming so close danger creeping in wishing to run and hide but frozen in a spell of curiosity I think you described the perfect summer storm. Your imagery really pulls the reader in and it has a good flow. Latin Angel

very nice.. loud and effective! I like it, keep writing, you're not bad!

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
