The Thief in the Night ©

Twas the night before Jesus returned

Evil spirits were tripping

Cause they knew they would burn

He came with such Vengeance, and Power and Might

Only a precious few expected “the Thief in the night”

Most humans were living their mundane lives

Some men were marrying their brand new wives

When all of a sudden, there arose in the air

A host of the deceased, the ground was nearly bare

Then disappeared the living in Him

The population on earth had become mighty slim

They who were left were scattered a-fright

Cause they knew that it had been “the Thief in the night”

Some were missing loved ones

Many had friends who’re now gone

But they that left are rejoicing

For they’ve finally made it Home

What a sad occasion for those left behind

Yet a testimony for all connected to the Vine

Oh yes, it was an awesome sight

To have been a part of the coming of

The Thief in the Night

This was VERY well written. "The Thief In The Night" can be misleading, until one realizes who the thief is, and what the thief is "stealing".

Thank you FLAWLESS. I'm on my way out. When I return I will be sure to read and rate for you as well.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
