    the tree

It stands graceful and tall; the light creating an image of a golden God. The evening light caressing it with such tenderness. I stand before it in awe and wonder at how such a massive creature could exist in such beauty and might.
I say my final good byes as they ready their weapons gleaming with malace. The first blow comes and I feel its pain, I hear its cry but i can do nothing to stop the abominations happening to it; they say it must be done and i must not interfear.
They continue their strikes until it gives a final groan and falls to the Earth. The deed is done, my love is gone.

Beautifully written, and I love the imagery that it gives. Excellent, and a definitely a 10 from me. Tis a shame your poems have no more reads than they do, you are a truly talented writer.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
