The Troll (final...)

The Troll (final...)

I cowered

Hoping I would not become

This beast’s second course

It stood directly above me

And I felt the terrible talons prick my flesh

As it grasped me

But pain was not forthcoming

Instead,

I was privy to what I could only describe

As even more terrifying

Than what had happened to my sister

I felt the Troll’s tongue upon my body

Lapping up all the remaining traces of my sister

That covered me

I was shaking profusely

And coated in saliva

That smelled worse than a sewage spill

The Troll placed me back upon the floor

And vanished

Into the portal of emptiness and despair

It had emerged from

And I was left to ponder,

Is this Netherworld evil

Friend

Or

Foe????

It truely inspires a feel like my favorite stories from youth of Beowulf.. And the middle earth caracter from tolkien. I like it with it's puzzled feeling at the end, very well done. you gave it a feeling of a sequel for the end.. cool!

A perfectly creative bedtime story from one of the best scary poets this site as ever seen.

Didn't you like your sister? Friend or foe? He'll be back for you, you know. He'll bide his time and then one night, You will forget and then he'll bite. On that I'll let you ponder. Loved your story. I have one called All Hallow's Eve I am going to post it at Halloween. I think you'll enjoy it. TS

I cannot wait to hear it!! and when my Troll comes for me in the darkest of night I will be waiting for him. LOL

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
