    The unwanted friend

There are so many poems and songs telling of what a friend is like, of how they’ll be there in your hour of need,
Sharing your day be it of frowns or smiles, not asking or taking, but always giving.
That certain someone that brightens your day with just a hello or a wave of a hand,
One that listens to your troubles and makes you feel good because you know they understand.
My hope for this day, and this message I send,
Is that you wake on this morning and go through your day knowing me as that kind of friend

I think this expresses the kind of friend that we all aspire to be... well done!

This is nice and in my opinion would be great on a greeting card...AnnieHall

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
