    Unhappy people
    Aggressively force their depressed moods
    Upon Us
    Few
    Unwittingly

    We prepare our minds
    To withstand
    Assault
    Simply to continue
    Being ourselves

    We refuse to sacrifice
    Our content
    To align
    With their chosen, frustrated lives

    Smothering attempts
    To pull us in
    Uncontrolled emotions
    Senseless miseries
    Deep .. bottomless .. quicksand

    We pretend to listen
    Whilst we escape
    Fast as we're able
    A thin line appears

    A pleasant stroll
    In the rain
    The sun
    The snow
    The ice

    Presents itself
    Sanity saved
    Them - you - or me

    Love this one, SBear! Like the philosophy you've brought to this poem! It's a bit different than the style in some of your others, but just as enjoyable! Excellent poem!
