    They Love Me

    They love me
    But they don’t get me
    They want me
    Because they aren’t with me
They hear me but even when they listen
They don’t catch what I’m saying
And with so few staying true
I’m praying that I, that we, that you
    Learn to be
    More
    Sore from the curse’s feedback
    Poor from my soul’s heed,
Back in the day when Miss-Array kept company
I guess it made sense that I separated
But serrated visions got it so that I can’t lay still
    I just want to interact
But I don’t understand exactly how to feel
Or how I’m supposed to react…
    Wait…
    Supposed to react?
    That’s an ironic fact simile
In that supposedly I’m just me
And can only be that which I see and know
Though I can’t find the innocence in adversity
Nor find the peace outside the university walls
    My train of substance calls
Yet I fall before my competition
    Broken and unable to reconstruct
Leaning towards freedom yet continuously plucked
From comfort of mind and stability of concern
Attempting not to turn from the word that I hear in the back of my mind
    “Shine...”
    “Shine….”
    “Shine!”
    I’m trying!
But I promise I think you’re supplying the wrong guy
Because the only light that I normally apply
Is the one that clicks twice
    Don’t get me started
Dearly departed, the goose has outsmarted
    The rabbit in the hole
Showed him ten karats and traded for his imagination
A toll which proved to be more than he could bear
When he found that the stare of a Cat’s Eye
    Wouldn’t get him a Pocahontas Brown-Thigh
Now he’s searching for Wonka’s Brown Ty
So that he might wipe his third eye clean
Of the obscene debris that clutters his dream
And here I lie, in between the strengthening steam
Of the pictures that which I see and that which I must be
With only a trailing scent of reality to keep me sane
And with no one to blame I find the heat of this flame
The only way to tame this feeling of a mundane existence
Where I am blessed to charismatically maneuver within the alphabet
Yet can’t unite in my own life the only four letters than matter
    L
    O
    V
    E
    Hi, remember me?
I am that seasoned fellow who used midnight oil to keep Princess warm
The guy who took the scenic route on the way to the sun just to accompany Storm
The one who performed those diabolical deeds on a quest to conquer Swirl
And the one who helped MJ realize that her curl
Is not what made her beautiful…
The one who learned from Jamaica that love alone doesn’t make you useful
But truthfully, I’m still lost in the simplicity of the art
Which is understanding the complexity of the heart
But as a start, all I ask, is that you don’t leave me for last

Wow! Overall, I like this. It certainly didn't have an ending to go along with how it read in the beginning. I almost sense two, possibly 3, poems interacting here. Alot to take in.........

You're a good story teller. It's not hard to be drawn in with what you have to say. Nice job. TS

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
