Things My Mama Didn't Say

Poem Commentary

All poetry written about my Mother is true. Yes, she WAS that amazing. :)

Things My Mama Didn't Say

She never called me ugly
Never said that I was fat
She thought I was her "Angel"
Though I knew I was a brat

She never judged one moment

When I married far too soon
She never said that I was simply
Acting like a "loon"

She never judged the way

I raised my children though she could
Not one time did she utter
My decisions "weren't good"

She never said my Daddy shouldn't

Talk to me that way
She never interfered it seemed
No matter what he'd say

Yes, sometimes I'd resent her

For her "Edith Bunker" way
But what my Mama Never Said
Means more than I can say.

Beautiful ... simply beautiful. Your mother was a kind and amazing woman.

Honestly, I'm surprised no one commented on this yet. htis is well written combining humor, and a remarkable insightful appreciation for the quiet emotional support your rmother gave you. Inspiring. Harv
