This Heart of You

This Heart of You (sequel to This Heart of Mine)

O Lord, if you are really there,
Please show me that you truly care.
To nowhere do I now go
To another home that I do not know.
From the Opera House that day I had to leave,
Away from the sweet tapestry of music I had weaved.
From the fire that spurns and burns,
Is it to you that I now turn?
I had to let her go, yes, let her go,
Gently into the arms that love would flow.
God help me to let Christine go, forever
I can never be with her anymore, never!!!
Help me to let of Christine,
She was so lovely, so lovely, so pristine.

Why were the gypsies so cruel and cold?
Beating and hurting me was their treasure, their "gold".
The kind of life I have known
O Lord, Christine told me that I was not alone!!
Where were you God? When did you hear my cry?
Was it when I masqueraded as an angel and living a lie?
In humbleness I am to you on bended knee.
For what I have done, I weep bitterly.
But lo!!! What joy and love do I now see,
O Lord, how kind you are to me!!!
Your love to me is so caring, so gentle and so true,
Please show me this Beautiful Heart of You.

Angry was I towards the whole earth.
Oh why couldn't have I died? What is life worth?
Is life worth pain, hatred and rage?
Oh why, oh why didn't you let me die in that cage??!!
Where were you God? Were you far or near?
Didn't you hear my cries all those lonely years?
O Lord, You were near. You had to be.
Otherwise, those animals would have killed me.
But what joy!! Show me your love so kind and true,
Please show me this Healing Heart of You.

Sorrows and pain I thought would be with me all my days,
Help to change my evil, evil ways!!!
The cords of violence and hate did I drink like a sweet, red wine
Around my heart they themselves did twist and intertwine.
Innocent blood with my hands have I shed,
O God!!! It is me, the one, who should be dead!!!
But Lord, your love for me is like the morning dew.
Your love so kind, so sweet and so true,
Please show me this Gentle Heart of You.

Who am I to love? Or be loved?
Who am I? Where was mercy from Heaven above?
O Lord, is there another to love me or is it just you?
The thing is to love myself, that is which I first must do.
Oh my heart!!! To have anyone love me, that is just fine!!!
So to pass my lonely days and tears of time.
Many nights pass and many tears have I wept,
God forgive me!!! Your commandments I have not kept.
Higher are you than the highest stars and so lovely,
Can I not see how good you are to me?
But what joy!!! Please show me your glory of love
That comes from sweet Heaven above.
This love, so kind, so pure and true,
Please show me this Glorious Heart of You.

Help me to dare to love and to again dream
Am I all and everything that I seem?
Do I dare to run or to dance?
Can I give love just one more chance?
Yes!! I can and please never be far from my heart,
For once my love for another nearly tore me apart.
O God, let me know of your sweet, sweet love
That comes from the highest of Heaven above.
Let me see your love, so kind, so sweet and true,
Please show me this Lovely Heart of You.

Am I doomed? No, I am saved.
Your love washes over me like a roaring wave.
Tell me your secrets, the commandments that I must obey.
O Lord, you have been so good to me today!!
This love of yours, so good so pure and true,
Please show me this Secret Heart of You.

Your love for me made me let go and my soul took flight.
Oh God, your love for me is full of passion and oh so bright.
Your love for me is so kind, so gentle and so true,
Please show me this Passionate Heart of You.

Even now, as I grow old and the years pass by
Your love for me will never die.
Now I see!! And now I understand.
You were always holding me by the hand.
Your love for me still holds steadfast and true,
Please show me This Heart of You.
