    This Melody

     There's a Melody running through my head
    to the beat of a broken heart.
    I'm hoping it will fade in time
    the longer we're apart.

    Too many times I've heard this song
    and the lyrics have grown old.
    So many times I did you wrong
    and the heat of love turned cold.

    I wish I would have realized
    soon enough to make things right.
    But the pain you felt was well disguised 
    and buried out of sight.

    Without the will to start anew
    or the strength to carry on
    I live a life without a view
    of the beauty of a new dawn.

    So I'll dwell upon the memory
    engraved upon my mind
    of a love that shall never be
    strong enough to bind.

    I feel...sad. This is why communication is so important. This would have given you the opportunity to right your wrongs in the moment. There are times when people get caught up in the feeling but either don't want to fix it or too scared. Don't hold on to regret - forgive yourself and the other person and push forward. - Peace and Blessings
