THOUGHTS OF YESTERDAY
Thoughts of Yesterday.... of times remembered.....days that linger ... like fires glowing embers.
A treasure of days.... a harvest of nights,
of songs and music... and soft glowing lights.
Time passed us by, the months and the years...
There were many a heartache ... many a tear.
Harsh words had been spoken.... words that brought pain, .... to the hearts that were fighting... but with nothing to gain.
We look and we search.... we cry in despair... for a love that was ours.... but no longer is there.
This love that we knew.... that once was so bright.....
Is it gone forever.... no longer in sight
It may be I'll find you.... in some distance place, perhaps once again to share your embrace.
I ask your forgivness.... and pray you'll be kind
So that once again .... I may have peace of mind.
Thoughts of Yesterday.... Memories true...
of the sun and the rain... white clouds in the blue.
The years and the miles have kepts us apart.....
Yet the Spring and your Love.... remain locked in my heart.
