Through Their Eyes...

Through Their Eyes...

Their eyes are so trusting…

The way they look up to you

All they want is your approval

 Unconditional love too

Through their eyes

They are always taking everything in

It is true that children learn what they live

Their childhood ingrained into them

Influencing their adult lives to come

Which means we really need to be

The best examples from which they will learn by

They will emulate you and me

 Give them the skills

They will need to make it through

So when they go out on their own they will know just what to do

We need to take the time to really see

The special part of every child

Their individuality

Nurture them…they grow so fast

For their childhood will not last

When they look back

You will want them to remember

Precious childhood memories forever

Have hope for their future

Love them and guide them through

Show them the right path

Cherish every moment you have with them too

This is so sweet! So many people take childhood for granted. It's a magical time that's over before we know it! Children become what they learn from those around them. I really like this one. :)

Shannie I think this should be a prerequisite to pregnancy and childbirth! Great job! I think it's a shame that we "test" for a driver's license, but ANYONE can be a parent. As we know from watching the news, so many children are mistreated or left to fend for themselves, what are we doing as adults to raise respectable little people? I love that you gave a big fluffy cloud of info in a soft way! Great job friend! Saylar

SO very true! Sometimes you forget they are right there with their little ears and eyes. And their little sponge like brains. One day, you ask them why they did something that you think they should not have done and hear them say "You do it" or hear them say something they should not say and they let you know right away, " You say it."

True, true...they mirror and mimic everything we do. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Oh, how true this is. Train up a child in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it. I really liked this poem. Great job.

I believe this to be true. Thanks

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
