tick tock

tick tock the clock cries
why is it sad i learn when i die
the clock had a lover that went away
and now the clock has made me stay
i said iwill never hurt you
which is not possibly so
the clock said that is why you must go
i never had someone that was nice
cause that soul my hate would slice
i said you can be nice ican help change you
and the clock said
get away from me before i rearange you

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
