Time

Waters of time easily drifted

Truly blessed are the gifted

Who believe when a sign is seen

Love now, not what has been.

Seize this day not the past

For the present will always last

Don’t worry about what is to come

What has been will never be undone.

Move forward but fear not looking back

Use the past as an almanac.

The past is always a good guide

But it’s the present always at your side.

What lies ahead nobody knows

Water eternal forever flows.

Footprints left in time will be blown away

History has had its say.

Always be proud of what was left

For what was, never be bereft.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
