    To Jenny

    A Song Lyric
    by Sheila King

    1. Outside snow is falling,
    the wind is blowing cold
    Inside Jenny’s dreaming
of a time she wasn’t old
    Someone’s calling, “Jenny,
    catch me if you can.”
And Jenny sees a picture of
    a blue-eyed handsome man.

    Chorus:
“Be kind to Jenny,” I hear someone say.
But Jenny’s not with them. She’s in yesterday.

    2. Jenny wed the young man.
    Loved him many years
Hand in hand they built a life
    with laughter and with tears.
    Now her love is sleeping.
    Jenny’s all alone
    And spends her days dreaming
of being back in her own home

    Repeat Chorus:

    3. Outside snow is falling.
    The wind is blowing cold.
    Inside Jenny’s dreaming
of a time she wasn’t old.
In a room next door to Jenny’s
a voice says, “I love you.”
Fifty years back in the past, she says,
    “Darlin’ I love you too.”

    Repeat Chorus:

very cool i love the way you write i compose lyrics also maybe we can write together sometime.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
