    To The One I Love

On October 10 at seven pm, I will marry a man
who for over three years had done all he can
to show me he loves me and how much he cares
and will symbolize his love by the ring he will wear.

He swept me away on the first day we met
but I was reluctant, my mind was not yet set.
We gave it all time to understand and to know.
But neither of us knew how strong our love would grow.

He treats me so fine and makes me feel so good
like any woman would want and any man should.
I know now that I love this man with all my heart.
And from this day forward, may we never part.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
