TO WRITE POEMS FROM THE PULPIT: THE ORSON VALLEY SERMON

When God’s calling and an ordination penetrated my soul,

Grabbed and guided me to a traditional pulpit of great significance.

I stood there upholding HIS righteousness, forming slowly to HIS custom mold.

As I spoke words that helped to affirm my own questionable spiritual stance,

My mind began thinking of those that wouldn’t dare come near HIS Holy place.

Wondering why the Gospel had become confined within the walls of an Earthly Church.

I am an artist, whom life long works GOD have seen.

A Christian with good intentions, but find myself falling short often.

An Artist, A Christian, and A Preacher all wrapped up in one being,

Trying to preach through these poems, before I am called to my destined coffin.

Can they hear without a Preacher?

Would poetry be considered a qualified pulpit?

Can a creative artist be received as a worthy teacher?

You are invited to heed the messages of this unworthy, Poetic Preacher.

An excellent religious poetry, very sincere and honest indeed. The questions asked in the last stanzas are worth to be answered and I said, YES to all. God bless!

That is an interesting and unique perspective - to be a poet, christian and preacher. Each of these eloquently get a message across, and God's message can be delivered in many ways. That's an awesome calling, and one you should be proud of. Really enjoyed this poem. It's heartfelt and introspective. Great job!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
