    Poem Commentary

IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN HERE, YOU CAN RELATE. FUNNY, BUT THAT'S THE WAY IT REALLY CAN BE, LOL! THANKS! HOPE YOU ENJOYED! (ROSE) :)

    TOO STONED TO WRITE

I am sitting here just thinking

But my mind keeps wandering off.

No my friend, it wasn't drinking

That was causing me to cough!

I was going to blow your mind,

     With such startling revelations,

     Of the "other-worldly" kind

     When I lost all concentration!

     It's an everyday occurrence,

     When you live in Mexico.

    “ Acapulco Gold” transference,

     Makes the brain synapses slow.

    I was ready to reveal,

    Secrets of the Universe,

    When all motor neurons squealed

And my thoughts went in reverse!

So I sat and gazed around

Trying hard to find a trace

Of the musings that I'd found

     Nope, still nothing; all erased.

     Guess I'll go back to my terrace;

Fire one up, enjoy the night.

I'm not shy and not embarrassed,

I'm just too damn stoned to write!

Hahahah how ironic. You wrote about your muse's failure in victorious fashion. Making something out of nothing. High but still focused :) Nice.

ha! awesome write, i loved the the way you described being to stoned but in such a lucid and intellectual way. the juxtaposition of being high and lucid made this an awesome read! great job.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
