Tormented

With all of the destruction,
And all of the worlds creations.
Down the sky can fall,
As emptiness finally calls.
Filled with nothing but lies,
Open doors that lead to demise.
But has windows that can only flutter,
Helping memories become more than a mutter.
Staring into the face of the enemy,
Who was once a friend but what betrayal can see.
On the floor as the blind,
There's nothing to hide behind.
Why, why can't I just fly free?
Instead, instead of always finding misery?
I held his hand for a moment,
For now I will be forever torment.
What does it matter,
When I all do is follow the same pattern for the battered?
So as the sky can fall,
And when the emptiness finally calls.
I will just lay here and watch my life go by,
Because just for a moment I held his hand and now I will forever cry.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
