    Tree

    she grew into a tree
    branches of honey
    dipping leaves into pools of plenty
    the forest fed her
    the winds soothed her
    the skies washed her
    and the snows bruised her
    before the end of time took her away
    seed by seed
    around the earth
    sprouting sister     islands of mirth
    around her girth
    the squirrels would chatter
    merry moments of mad hatter laughter
    each bird in her branches
    blessed her with natures gentle touch
    the monarch
    the lark
    the magpie and owl
    all friends of hers
    she knows them so well
    her tongue reaches deep into the earth
    sucking from corpses
    and bowels of red dirt
    the life giving
    intravenous gift
    of water till it hurts
    she fills her sails with the sound of angels
    a tree of desire never meant for the fire
    so grand is she
    i can only     sit beneath her great leaves
    and peer into the stars of her canopy
    and wish that i were as majestic
    as this silent, ageless wreath
    of color and mystery

    BRAVO *applauds* there are no words to describe this amad being a nature person this touches me deeply. and couldn't be happier to see it come from you. Pure talent and a 10 from me my friend. Again Bravo.

    wow this is beautiful. i like the flow of this. it does seem like everyone takes the beauty of nature for granted and dont care anymore. Great write.

    Absolutely amazing I was torn between deciding if you were really talking about a tree or a woman. lol! You gave this work life a pleasing vision of natures truest glory. Well done.

    wow this is amazing great poem about the beautiful things in nature that so many take for granted thanks for sharing this is great going into my favs that's for sure very powerful so much passion in each line a 10 all the way in my book I was able to picture every line as i read I look forward to reading more
