    True Romance & Love Remains

    Drums pounding fast and steady
    My body hot and sweaty
His touch makes me feel at ease
Our first kiss like Christmas eve
All fades away in that instant
Both our lips connected and persistent
We share loves true first embrace
Hearts pounding like a horse’s in a race

What will come of this new experience?
Will it be marriage and children?
Can my happily ever after be?

    Yes, everything happened in deed
Now I feel like I belong
No one else can take this love
    Envy can carry the seed
But we cast it out and let it fade
    We protect what we contain
    For what we have is
    True Romance
    For what we have
    Will always last
    It is Love’s true embrace

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
