    Twenty-first Century Goofiness!

    Itsy Bitsy man-machine

    Create something divine

    Automate the beauty queen

    Storylines that intertwine

    Rocket ships impale the sky

Time is money and waste’s a thief

Bad ideas that refuse to die

Tree into timber, cow into beef

Stock up on ramen and lead-free

    Build Tokyo a boat

    You’re on national CCTV

    A struggle to stay afloat

You can run and you can hide

But this will never go away

You can go and get high as a kite

This is still the only way

    You say love for everyone

You want us all to die?!

Let the bastards have a megaton

Got something heartbreaking in my eye

Stay in school, don’t do drugs

And in case you get to grow old

I only have one final advice

Sell your house and buy some gold

I find this one as humorous as it is stark. It's a plain and simple shout. The metaphors are great, and the rhythm is fast and smooth. I like it.

Amazing... you have penned so many interesting cliches~ "waste is a thief" and "rocket ships impale the sky"... and I like the itsy bitsy man machine... and it's soooo true, in today's economy... to invest in gold... still can't figure out why it counts more than food 'n clean air 'n water though... seems we can't buy that though... EXCELLENT poem here... I hope you win the contest... you express the world today...

Seems to be a collection of wisdom proverbs and observations put together to form a poem. I like your poem "Paper" much better but this is good, also. Keep up the good work.

I'm with it! It's not just that day to day existence is getting more complex (and for no discernible reason), it's the fact that the trivial, nonsensical things get the most attention.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
