    Twilight

    Twilight

    Dim and dusty eager lawn
    Severs daylight from the dawn
    Angled cover dancing spawn

     Ruddy swoon, magic murmur
    shimmery, savage, bold
    alchemy in the sky

    Armored quiet evening show
     mystical as glimmers go
    matching mirror skirts below

    ancient flyer bares its face
     fierce and moody, the charmer
    leaves no trace

    stalking, fabled, fluent loot
    silent, able, just, aloof
    skirmish aloft, eluding and soft

    dangled new and edgy flank
peaking forth as bright suns sank
    in watery caves it blusters

    even sleepy shadows shake
    its dusky bloom

jake, Great wordplay in this fantastic poem of twilight. I like the tone and mood that is brought to that mysterious few moments of the night's precursor. FYI I have a poem also titled "twilight" much shorter with a slightly different angle. Please read it sometime. ginga

Excellent imagery that promenades with the minds eye to reveal some, yet, unvisited reality.

Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crost the bar.

Yes, the wolf is my totem. Your power brings to mind the magnificent beauty of a wolf. A wolf pack has a close relationship that is defined beyond the bounds of any humanistic connection. Your poem ignites within me a longing to run as a wolf; free of this translucent human race.

thanks, you have read many of mine today. I appreciate that so much.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
