Two Proud Ladies

Two Proud Ladies

 Two once proud ladies

now bound back to back,
victims of a police state
on a frontal attack.

One was liberty
her flame, now burned out,
a symbol for world
what freedom was  about.

The other was justice
perverted 'til she broke,
herself, now imprisoned
new world order has spoke.

We let them become victims
through indifference and deceit,
unfortunately, for our children
these two ladies, they'll never meet.
